Ever wonder if there is anyone out there that actually dials those numbers written on public restroom walls? Well the answer is yes, and luckily for one random guy, a quick text he sent as a shot in the dark found him his one true love.
When Mark Ellis, age 51, saw the words, “for a good time, call Donna,” written on the wall in a bathroom stall in Garforth, West Yorkshire, he decided to text the number just to see what would happen. Little did he know, he would soon be meeting the woman of his dreams.
Soon after Mark text Donna, the pair met face-to-face and immediately felt a strong connection to one another. Much to both of their surprise, they knew there could be something really special already forming.
Interestingly enough, Mark found out it was Donna’s ex who had written her number on the bathroom stall as a mean joke. Little did he know, he was actually doing her a huge favor.
The couple still laugh today, knowing it was Donna’s ex who unintentionally introduced the soul mates.
When Donna was asked of her initial thoughts when she first received the text from a stranger, she admitted that she was very confused. However, her curiosity got the best of her, and she felt compelled to meet this mystery man.
It wasn’t until a few days later that Mark revealed to Donna how he received her phone number in the first place. Although quite embarrassed at the time, it didn’t stop Donna from wanting to continue on with the relationship they had just began to build.
Now, 10 years later, Mark and Donna are still happily together and have two children, ages eight and nine.
The happy couple still joke about how they first met, and although their children have yet to know the secret behind their relationship, we are sure they will find humor in it someday.
If anything else, we hope this love story gives you the courage to take a second look at the numbers written inside that dirty bathroom stall. You never know if the person on the other side of the phone is your one true love.
